TuneBlade can stream audio to a variety of audio devices and applications. Here is a list: Airport Express, Apple TV, AirPlay-enabled speakers, AirPlay-enabled HiFi receivers, XBMC, Shairtport on Linux PCs, Shairpot4w on Windows PCs, and Shairport on Raspberry Pi devices. So if you have a Windows PC and some AirPlay-enabled speakers, you can use TuneBlade to stream audio from your PC to your speakers.

TuneBlade is compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 at the time of writing this. Download an installer, run it, and a setup wizard will show up. Said setup wizard will help you quickly install TuneBlade on a PC powered by a supported Windows edition.

TuneBlade is a tray utility – this means it sits in the system tray, down in the lower right hand corner of your PC’s screen. When you launch TuneBlade, it will automatically start to search for AirPlay receivers. All the receivers it finds will be displayed on its interface. You can bring up said interface with a simple click on TuneBlade’s system tray icon.

TuneBlade can stream audio from your PC to any AirPlay receiver you select. You can stream audio from any application, you can stream audio with minimal lag time, you can simultaneously stream to multiple receivers, you can get the Remote for TuneBlade app from the App Store and use your iPhone to remotely control the volume, you can tweak the lows, mids and highs with a 3-bad equalizer.

TuneBlade is available as a Free and as a Full edition. TuneBlade Free can stream audio to all the devices I listed at the start of this article. But mind you, streaming to Airport Express, Apple TV, AirPlay-enabled speakers, and AirPlay-enabled HiFi receivers is limited – it stops every 10 minutes. To get rid of this annoyance, you must purchase the TuneBlade Full edition.

Stream audio from your PC to any AirPlay receiver you want with TuneBlade.

Pros

Getting TuneBlade up and running on a PC is a simple matter. There’s a Remote for TuneBlade app for iOS. TuneBlade can stream audio to a variety of audio devices and applications. TuneBlade can stream audio to multiple AirPlay receivers at once. Minimal lag time, premium audio quality, smooth playback, 3-band sound equalizer.

Cons

TuneBlade Free has limited streaming functionality to offer: streaming to Airport Express, Apple TV, AirPlay-enabled speakers, and AirPlay-enabled HiFi receivers stops every 10 minutes.
